Operatizers: Dreams and Desires

Golden Isles Arts & Humanities is pleased to present the return of Peach State Opera with a special production – Operatizers: Dreams and Desires on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 3 pm at the Historic Ritz Theatre in downtown Brunswick.  This taste of some of the best classical and classic music is an afternoon not to missed.

Operatizers: Dreams and Desires is a production of opera, operetta, and classic musical theatre’s most beloved arias, duets, trios, and ensembles complete with staging and narration. The theme is based around the dreamy and serene, as well as the tumultuous and passionate, with selections by Puccini, Donizetti, Verdi, Rossini, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Bernstein, and more. This production features many of Peach State Opera’s most beloved performers, as well as a few fresh faces.

Peach State Opera, a touring company that brings opera to communities across Georgia and beyond was founded in 2009. The organization’s guiding principle is that all audiences deserve access to opera and that the opera world needs a place where emerging artists can express themselves. All their performances are condensed family-friendly versions and are performed in English. Golden Isles Arts & Humanities has been presenting Peach State Opera to our community for over 10 years and is thrilled to have them returning once again.

If you are new to opera or an aficionado, Operatizers: Dreams and Desires is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some of the best that opera offers.  Advance tickets for Golden Isles Arts & Humanities Members are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors. Advance tickets for Nonmembers are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors (age 65 and up). Price increases $5 if tickets are purchased the day of the show.  The cost for students (with ID) is always $5 each.
