Georgia Artists With DisAbilities Exhibit Returns

June 3, 2022

The 36th annual Georgia Artists with DisAbilities Exhibition of winners will be on display in the Wilcox Gallery in the Historic Ritz Theatre during the month of June.   Sponsored by The Pilot Clubs of Metro Atlanta, the exhibit will open on First Friday June 3rd with an opening reception from 5 – 8 pm and will be on display through June 28, 2022.

The exhibit has been virtual for the last two years due to Covid, so Golden Isles Arts & Humanities is excited to be able to host this annual touring exhibit in person once again. “The work is always outstanding and inspiring,” said, Heather Heath, Executive Director, “And the Penguin Project production of Disney’s High School Musical JR will also be running June 16-19 at the Ritz, so we are proud to be showcasing the talent of both visual artists and dramatic artists who have disabilities and showing that a disability does not hinder creativity.”

Georgia Artists with Disabilities, Inc. was founded in 1985 by the Pilot Clubs of Metro Atlanta and is supported by Georgia District Pilot Clubs.  The mission of Georgia Artists with Disabilities is to provide avenues through which Georgia artists with disabilities can display their artistic accomplishments in all disciplines of the arts, and to create public awareness of the artistic skills these artists have developed by overcoming the obstacles of their disabilities.

Join Golden Isles Arts & Humanities on Friday, June 3rd for the opening reception for the Georgia Artists with DisAbilities Exhibit or visit the gallery during its regular hours Tuesday – Friday 9 am to 5 pm a or by appointment.  For more information visit www.goldeniselsarts.org or call 912-262-6934.
