Mainstreet Alliance

The Mainstreet Alliance is a local partnership dedicated to the improvement of downtown Brunswick, utilizing the skills and assets of its volunteers and the businesses who care about this community. The core of the Mainstreet Alliance’s function is to provide an avenue of mutual benefit between businesses and community members that would otherwise not be possible. The Mainstreet Alliance structure is based on the National Main Street Center’s volunteer approach, in conjunction with other fronts downtowns throughout the nation have utilized, to revitalize their local economy.

  The Mainstreet Alliance is divided into two different programs, businesses and volunteers.

  Volunteers institute various efforts which improve downtown including

  • community outreach
  • student outreach
  • event coordination
  • city beautification
  • business advocacy and development
  • marketing

Meanwhile, businesses are welcome to participate in all of the same functions as individual members, but it is not required. Instead, businesses donate their resources by providing a discount to the Mainstreet Alliance Reward Card which is given to the Mainstreet Alliance Volunteers for the term they applied.
